Other pain persists for months, sometimes even after the tissue has healed.<\/p>\n<p>Understanding the difference between <strong>acute<\/strong> and <strong>chronic pain<\/strong> is an essential step in choosing the right approach and promoting <strong>lasting recovery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As a physical therapist, I regularly work with patients who are unsure whether their pain is \u201cnormal,\u201d worrisome, or persistent.
